Thoughts ABOUTA Hero’s Journey
We come into the story with the hero exiting a grey house, and is herself painted in grey tones, and only upon exiting to begin her journey, does she gain color. We see the following: a path, a tornado, a rainbow, an emerald castle in the background, and a bit of sock and shoe in the foreground, important objects in The Wizzard of Oz. We also see the heart shape created by objects and spaces in the center of the story, and at the level of the hero’s own heart, so we observe this is a deeply personal journey with heart. We see the movement of the tornado appear to advance and recede as a play between the foreground and the background, as our challenges, likewise, advance and recede, We see the duality of challenge, this powerful tornado appears almost flower-like in the sky. Above and below the rainbow, in Morse Code, the message embodies the theme: Love, Wisdom, and Courage. |
